In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, I contemplate the Name of the Lord, Har, Har. I am in peaceful poise and bliss, day and night; the seed of my destiny has sprouted. || Pause || I have met the True Guru, by great good fortune; He has no end or limitation. Taking His humble servant by the hand, He pulls him out of the poisonous world-ocean. || 1 || Birth and death are ended for me, by the Word of the Guru’s Teachings; I shall no longer pass through the door of pain and suffering. Nanak holds tight to the Sanctuary of his Lord and Master; again and again, he bows in humility and reverence to Him. || 2 || 9 || 28 ||

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਚਿਤਾਰਾ ॥
साधसंगि हरि हरि नामु चितारा ॥
Sāḏẖsang har har nām cẖiṯārā.

ਸਹਜਿ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਅੰਕੁਰੁ ਭਲੋ ਹਮਾਰਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सहजि अनंदु होवै दिनु राती अंकुरु भलो हमारा ॥ रहाउ ॥
Sahj anand hovai ḏin rāṯī ankur bẖalo hamārā. Rahā▫o.
I am in peaceful poise and bliss, day and night; the seed of my destiny has sprouted. ||Pause||
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰਾ ॥
गुरु पूरा भेटिओ बडभागी जा को अंतु न पारावारा ॥
Gur pūrā bẖeti▫o badbẖāgī jā ko anṯ na pārāvārā.
I have met the True Guru, by great good fortune; He has no end or limitation.
ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੀਓ ਜਨੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਬਿਖੁ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
करु गहि काढि लीओ जनु अपुना बिखु सागर संसारा ॥१॥
Kar gėh kādẖ lī▫o jan apunā bikẖ sāgar sansārā. ||1||
Taking His humble servant by the hand, He pulls him out of the poisonous world-ocean. ||1||
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਕਾਟੇ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਸੰਕਟ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥
जनम मरन काटे गुर बचनी बहुड़ि न संकट दुआरा ॥
Janam maran kāte gur bacẖnī bahuṛ na sankat ḏu▫ārā.
Birth and death are ended for me, by the Word of the Guru's Teachings; I shall no longer pass through the door of pain and suffering.
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਗਹੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੀ ਪੁਨਹ ਪੁਨਹ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਾ ॥੨॥੯॥੨੮॥
नानक सरनि गही सुआमी की पुनह पुनह नमसकारा ॥२॥९॥२८॥
Nānak saran gahī su▫āmī kī punah punah namaskārā. ||2||9||28||
Nanak holds tight to the Sanctuary of his Lord and Master; again and again, he bows in humility and reverence to Him. ||2||9||28||

ਟੋਡੀ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ। ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਮੈਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਦਿਹੁੰ ਰੈਣ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੀ, ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਮੇਰੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਦਾ ਬੀਜ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਫੁਟ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਿ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ। ਸਹਜਿ = ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ। ਅੰਕੁਰੁ = (ਪਿਛਲੇ ਬੀਜੇ ਹੋਏ ਭਲੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ) ਅੰਗੂਰ।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਟਿਕ ਕੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਉਸ) ਆਤਮਕ ਅਡੋਲਤਾ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ (ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ) ਆਨੰਦ ਬਣਿਆ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। (ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਅਸਾਂ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਕਰਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਭਲਾ ਅੰਗੂਰ ਫੁੱਟ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਾ ਕੋ ਅੰਤੁ ਨ ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰਾ ॥ ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੀਓ ਜਨੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਬਿਖੁ ਸਾਗਰ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
ਪਰਮ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਸੀਬਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੈਂ ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਓੜਕ ਤੇ ਹੱਦਬੰਨਾ ਜਾਣਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ। ਆਪਣੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਨੇ ਜ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਜਗਤ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਧੂ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ।
ਭੇਟਿਓ = ਮਿਲ ਪਿਆ। ਬਡ ਭਾਗੀ = ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ। ਜਾ ਕੋ = ਜਿਸ (ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ) ਦਾ। ਪਾਰਾਵਾਰਾ = ਪਾਰ ਅਵਾਰ, ਪਾਰਲਾ ਉਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ। ਕਰੁ = {ਇਕ-ਵਚਨ} ਹੱਥ। ਗਹਿ = ਫੜ ਕੇ। ਜਨੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ = ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ। ਬਿਖੁ = ਜ਼ਹਰ, ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਮੋਹ ਦਾ ਜ਼ਹਰ।੧।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਸ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਦਾ ਅੰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਹਸਤੀ ਦਾ ਉਰਲਾ ਪਾਰਲਾ ਬੰਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦਾ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਉਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ (ਉਸਦਾ) ਹੱਥ ਫੜ ਕੇ ਵਿਹੁਲੇ ਸੰਸਾਰ-ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਜਿਸ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ) ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਸਮਤ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲ ਪੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੧।
ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਕਾਟੇ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਸੰਕਟ ਦੁਆਰਾ ॥ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਨਿ ਗਹੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੀ ਪੁਨਹ ਪੁਨਹ ਨਮਸਕਾਰਾ ॥੨॥੯॥੨੮॥
ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਮੇਰੇ ਜੰਮਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਮਰਣੇ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਦਰਵਾਜਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਾਂਗਾ। ਨਾਨਕ ਨੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਪਕੜੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਬਾਰੰਬਾਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਮ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਸੰਕਟ ਦੁਆਰਾ = ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ (ਵਾਲੇ ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ) ਦਾ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ। ਗਹੀ = ਫੜੀ ਹੈ। ਪੁਨਹ ਪੁਨਹ = ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ।੨।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਤੁਰਿਆਂ ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਵਿਚ ਪਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਫਾਹੀਆਂ ਕੱਟੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਕਸ਼ਟਾਂ-ਭਰੇ ਚੌਰਾਸੀ ਦੇ ਗੇੜ ਦਾ ਦਰਵਾਜ਼ਾ ਮੁੜ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖਣਾ ਪੈਂਦਾ। ਹੇ ਨਾਨਕ! (ਆਖ-ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਮੈਂ ਭੀ ਮਾਲਕ-ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦਰ ਤੇ) ਮੁੜ ਮੁੜ ਸਿਰ ਨਿਵਾਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ।੨।੯।੨੭।
