पूछहु बिदर दासी सुतै किसनु उतरिआ घरि जिसु जाइ ॥१॥
Pūcẖẖahu biḏar ḏāsī suṯai kisan uṯri▫ā gẖar jis jā▫e. ||1||

Har kī akath kathā sunhu jan bẖā▫ī jiṯ sahsā ḏūkẖ bẖūkẖ sabẖ lėh jā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.

Raviḏās cẖamār usṯaṯ kare har kīraṯ nimakẖ ik gā▫e.
Ravi Daas, the leather-worker, praised the Lord, and sang the Kirtan of His Praises each and every instant.
ਪਤਿਤ ਜਾਤਿ ਉਤਮੁ ਭਇਆ ਚਾਰਿ ਵਰਨ ਪਏ ਪਗਿ ਆਇ ॥੨॥
पतित जाति उतमु भइआ चारि वरन पए पगि आइ ॥२॥
Paṯiṯ jāṯ uṯam bẖa▫i▫ā cẖār varan pa▫e pag ā▫e. ||2||
Although he was of low social status, he was exalted and elevated, and people of all four castes came and bowed at his feet. ||2||
ਨਾਮਦੇਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਲੋਕੁ ਛੀਪਾ ਕਹੈ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥
नामदेअ प्रीति लगी हरि सेती लोकु छीपा कहै बुलाइ ॥
Nāmḏe▫a parīṯ lagī har seṯī lok cẖẖīpā kahai bulā▫e.
Naam Dayv loved the Lord; the people called him a fabric dyer.
ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਪਿਠਿ ਦੇ ਛੋਡੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਲੀਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਇ ॥੩॥
खत्री ब्राहमण पिठि दे छोडे हरि नामदेउ लीआ मुखि लाइ ॥३॥
Kẖaṯrī barāhmaṇ piṯẖ ḏe cẖẖode har nāmḏe▫o lī▫ā mukẖ lā▫e. ||3||
The Lord turned His back on the high-class Kashatriyas and Brahmins, and showed His face to Naam Dayv. ||3||
ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਕਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਤਿਨ ਤਿਲਕੁ ਕਢਾਇ ॥
जितने भगत हरि सेवका मुखि अठसठि तीरथ तिन तिलकु कढाइ ॥
Jiṯne bẖagaṯ har sevkā mukẖ aṯẖsaṯẖ ṯirath ṯin ṯilak kadẖā▫e.
All of the devotees and servants of the Lord have the tilak, the ceremonial mark, applied to their foreheads at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage.
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਪਰਸੇ ਜੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥੪॥੧॥੮॥
जनु नानकु तिन कउ अनदिनु परसे जे क्रिपा करे हरि राइ ॥४॥१॥८॥
Jan Nānak ṯin ka▫o an▫ḏin parse je kirpā kare har rā▫e. ||4||1||8||

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤੀ ਦੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ, ਉਚੇ ਮਰਤਬੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨੀਚ ਜਾਤਿ = ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ। ਉਤਮ ਪਦਵੀ = ਉੱਚਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ। ਪਾਇ = ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਚਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਗੋਲੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਿਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਕਰ ਲਓ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਠਹਿਰਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਬਿਦਰ = ਬਿਦਰ ਭਗਤ ਰਾਜਾ ਵਿਚਿਤ੍ਰ-ਵੀਰਜ ਦੀ ਦਾਸੀ ਸੁਦੇਸ਼ਣਾ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਖੋਂ ਵਿਆਸ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਭਗਤੀ-ਭਾਵ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਦੁਰਜੋਧਨ ਦੇ ਮਹਲ-ਮਾੜੀਆਂ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਬਿਦਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਆ ਕੇ ਠਹਿਰੇ ਸਨ (ਵੇਖੋ ਭਾ: ਗੁਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਵਾਰ ੧੦}। ਘਰਿ ਜਿਸੁ = ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ। ਜਾਇ = ਜਾ ਕੇ ॥੧॥
(ਜੇ ਯਕੀਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਦਾਸੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਿਦਰ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਪੁੱਛ ਵੇਖੋ। ਉਸ ਬਿਦਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਠਹਿਰੇ ਸਨ ॥੧॥
ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਨਹੁ ਜਨ ਭਾਈ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਹਸਾ ਦੂਖ ਭੂਖ ਸਭ ਲਹਿ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥

ਹੇ ਲੋਕੋ! ਮੇਰੇ ਭਰਾਓ! ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਅਕਹਿ ਧਰਮ ਵਾਰਤਾ ਸ੍ਰਵਣ ਕਰੋ, ਜਿਸ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਫਿਕਰ ਤਕਲੀਫ ਅਤੇ ਭੁੱਖ ਸਮੂਹ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
ਜਿਤੁ = ਜਿਸ (ਕਥਾ) ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਸਹਸਾ = ਸਹਿਮ ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣੋ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਮ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਖ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥

ਚਮਰੇਟਾ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਨਿਮਖ ਇਕ = ਇਕ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ {निमेष = ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਸਮਾ}। ਕੀਰਤਿ = ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ।
(ਭਗਤ) ਰਵਿਦਾਸ (ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ) ਚਮਾਰ (ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ) ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।

ਡਿੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਜਾਤੀ ਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ, ਉਹ ਸਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਜਾਤਾਂ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈ ਗਈਆਂ।
ਪਤਿਤ ਜਾਤਿ = ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਵਾਲਾ। ਚਾਰਿ ਵਰਨ = ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ, ਖਤ੍ਰੀ, ਵੈਸ਼, ਸ਼ੂਦਰ। ਪਗਿ = ਪੈਰ ਉੱਤੇ। ਆਇ = ਆ ਕੇ ॥੨॥
ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਮਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਖ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ। ਚੌਹਾਂ ਵਰਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਆ ਕੇ ਲੱਗ ਪਏ ॥੨॥

ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ। ਲੋਕੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੀਬਾਂ ਆਖਦੇ ਤੇ ਸੱਦਦੇ ਸਨ।
ਨਾਮਦੇਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ = ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ {ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਪਿੰਡ ਨਰਸੀ ਵਾਂਮਨੀ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਤਾਰਾ, ਪ੍ਰਾਂਤ ਬੰਬਈ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਨ ੧੨੭੦ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਡਰਪੁਰ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਿਆ। ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਸੰਨ ੧੩੫੦ ਵਿਚ}। ਸੇਤੀ = ਨਾਲ।
(ਭਗਤ) ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਦੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਣ ਗਈ। ਜਗਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੀਂਬਾ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਪਿਠਿ ਦੇ ਛੋਡੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਲੀਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਇ ॥੩॥

ਸਾਈਂ ਨੇ ਖਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੰਡ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਇ ਲੀਆ = ਦਰਸਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਮੱਥੇ ਲਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਖਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿੱਠ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਤੇ, ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਥੇ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ ॥੩॥

ਜਿੰਨੇ ਭੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਅਠਾਹਟ ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਟਿੱਕਾ ਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮੁਖਿ = ਮੂੰਹ ਉਤੇ। ਅਠਸਠਿ = ਅਠਾਹਠ।
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ ਭਗਤ ਹਨ, ਸੇਵਕ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਅਠਾਹਠ ਤੀਰਥ ਤਿਲਕ ਲਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਤੀਰਥ ਭੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ)।

ਜੇਕਰ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਨਿਛਾਵਰ ਕਰੇ, ਗੋਲਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹੇਗਾ।
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ = {अनुदिनां} ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ। ਪਰਸੇ = ਛੁਹੇ। ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ = ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ॥੪॥੧॥੮॥
ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਭਗਤਾਂ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ) ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਛੁੰਹਦਾ ਰਹੇ ॥੪॥੧॥੮॥

पतित जाति उतमु भइआ चारि वरन पए पगि आइ ॥२॥
Paṯiṯ jāṯ uṯam bẖa▫i▫ā cẖār varan pa▫e pag ā▫e. ||2||
Although he was of low social status, he was exalted and elevated, and people of all four castes came and bowed at his feet. ||2||
ਨਾਮਦੇਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗੀ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਲੋਕੁ ਛੀਪਾ ਕਹੈ ਬੁਲਾਇ ॥
नामदेअ प्रीति लगी हरि सेती लोकु छीपा कहै बुलाइ ॥
Nāmḏe▫a parīṯ lagī har seṯī lok cẖẖīpā kahai bulā▫e.
Naam Dayv loved the Lord; the people called him a fabric dyer.
ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਪਿਠਿ ਦੇ ਛੋਡੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਲੀਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਇ ॥੩॥
खत्री ब्राहमण पिठि दे छोडे हरि नामदेउ लीआ मुखि लाइ ॥३॥
Kẖaṯrī barāhmaṇ piṯẖ ḏe cẖẖode har nāmḏe▫o lī▫ā mukẖ lā▫e. ||3||
The Lord turned His back on the high-class Kashatriyas and Brahmins, and showed His face to Naam Dayv. ||3||
ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਕਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਤਿਨ ਤਿਲਕੁ ਕਢਾਇ ॥
जितने भगत हरि सेवका मुखि अठसठि तीरथ तिन तिलकु कढाइ ॥
Jiṯne bẖagaṯ har sevkā mukẖ aṯẖsaṯẖ ṯirath ṯin ṯilak kadẖā▫e.
All of the devotees and servants of the Lord have the tilak, the ceremonial mark, applied to their foreheads at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage.
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਪਰਸੇ ਜੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥੪॥੧॥੮॥

ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤੀ ਦੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ, ਉਚੇ ਮਰਤਬੇ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਪਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਨੀਚ ਜਾਤਿ = ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ। ਉਤਮ ਪਦਵੀ = ਉੱਚਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ। ਪਾਇ = ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਨੀਵੀਂ ਜਾਤਿ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਜਪਣ ਨਾਲ ਉੱਚਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਦਰਜਾ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

ਗੋਲੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਿਦਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਕਰ ਲਓ, ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਗ੍ਰਹਿ ਵਿੱਚ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਠਹਿਰਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਬਿਦਰ = ਬਿਦਰ ਭਗਤ ਰਾਜਾ ਵਿਚਿਤ੍ਰ-ਵੀਰਜ ਦੀ ਦਾਸੀ ਸੁਦੇਸ਼ਣਾ ਦੀ ਕੁੱਖੋਂ ਵਿਆਸ ਰਿਸ਼ੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਦਾ ਭਗਤੀ-ਭਾਵ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਦੁਰਜੋਧਨ ਦੇ ਮਹਲ-ਮਾੜੀਆਂ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਬਿਦਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਆ ਕੇ ਠਹਿਰੇ ਸਨ (ਵੇਖੋ ਭਾ: ਗੁਰਦਾਸ ਜੀ ਵਾਰ ੧੦}। ਘਰਿ ਜਿਸੁ = ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ। ਜਾਇ = ਜਾ ਕੇ ॥੧॥
(ਜੇ ਯਕੀਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਾਸੋਂ) ਦਾਸੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਬਿਦਰ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਪੁੱਛ ਵੇਖੋ। ਉਸ ਬਿਦਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਨ ਜੀ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਠਹਿਰੇ ਸਨ ॥੧॥

ਜਿਤੁ = ਜਿਸ (ਕਥਾ) ਦੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ। ਸਹਸਾ = ਸਹਿਮ ॥੧॥
ਹੇ ਸੱਜਣੋ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਅਸਚਰਜ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਰੋ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ ਹਰੇਕ ਕਿਸਮ ਦਾ ਸਹਿਮ ਹਰੇਕ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੀ) ਭੁੱਖ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥

ਚਮਰੇਟਾ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਸਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਹਰ ਇਕ ਮੁਹਤ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਨਿਮਖ ਇਕ = ਇਕ ਇਕ ਨਿਮਖ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ {निमेष = ਅੱਖ ਝਮਕਣ ਜਿਤਨਾ ਸਮਾ}। ਕੀਰਤਿ = ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ।
(ਭਗਤ) ਰਵਿਦਾਸ (ਜਾਤਿ ਦਾ) ਚਮਾਰ (ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ) ਸਿਫ਼ਤ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੀ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।

ਡਿੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਜਾਤੀ ਦਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ, ਉਹ ਸਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਜਾਤਾਂ ਆ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਪੈ ਗਈਆਂ।

ਨਾਮਦੇਅ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ = ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ {ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਜਨਮ ਪਿੰਡ ਨਰਸੀ ਵਾਂਮਨੀ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਸਤਾਰਾ, ਪ੍ਰਾਂਤ ਬੰਬਈ ਵਿਚ ਸੰਨ ੧੨੭੦ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ। ਉਮਰ ਦਾ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੰਡਰਪੁਰ ਵਿਚ ਗੁਜ਼ਾਰਿਆ। ਉਥੇ ਹੀ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਸੰਨ ੧੩੫੦ ਵਿਚ}। ਸੇਤੀ = ਨਾਲ।
(ਭਗਤ) ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਦੀ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਬਣ ਗਈ। ਜਗਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੀਂਬਾ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਖਤ੍ਰੀ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣ ਪਿਠਿ ਦੇ ਛੋਡੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਲੀਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਇ ॥੩॥
The Lord turned His back on the high-class Kashatriyas and Brahmins, and showed His face to Naam Dayv. ||3||
ਸਾਈਂ ਨੇ ਖਤਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਕੰਡ ਕਰ ਲਈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਲਾ ਲਿਆ।
ਮੁਖਿ ਲਾਇ ਲੀਆ = ਦਰਸਨ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਮੱਥੇ ਲਾਇਆ ॥੩॥
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਖਤ੍ਰੀਆਂ ਬ੍ਰਾਹਮਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਿੱਠ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਤੇ, ਨਾਮਦੇਵ ਨੂੰ ਮੱਥੇ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ ॥੩॥
ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭਗਤ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਵਕਾ ਮੁਖਿ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਤਿਨ ਤਿਲਕੁ ਕਢਾਇ ॥
All of the devotees and servants of the Lord have the tilak, the ceremonial mark, applied to their foreheads at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage.
ਜਿੰਨੇ ਭੀ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਲੇ ਹਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਅਠਾਹਟ ਯਾਤ੍ਰਾ ਅਸਥਾਨ ਟਿੱਕਾ ਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮੁਖਿ = ਮੂੰਹ ਉਤੇ। ਅਠਸਠਿ = ਅਠਾਹਠ।
ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ ਭਗਤ ਹਨ, ਸੇਵਕ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੱਥੇ ਉਤੇ ਅਠਾਹਠ ਤੀਰਥ ਤਿਲਕ ਲਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ (ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਤੀਰਥ ਭੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਦਰ-ਮਾਣ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ)।
ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਤਿਨ ਕਉ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਪਰਸੇ ਜੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ ॥੪॥੧॥੮॥
Servant Nanak shall touch their feet night and day, if the Lord, the King, grants His Grace. ||4||1||8||
ਜੇਕਰ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਪ੍ਰਮੇਸ਼ਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਰਹਿਮਤ ਨਿਛਾਵਰ ਕਰੇ, ਗੋਲਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੂਹੇਗਾ।
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ = {अनुदिनां} ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ। ਪਰਸੇ = ਛੁਹੇ। ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇ = ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ॥੪॥੧॥੮॥
ਜੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ-ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹ ਮੇਹਰ ਕਰੇ, ਤਾਂ ਦਾਸ ਨਾਨਕ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ (ਭਗਤਾਂ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ) ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਛੁੰਹਦਾ ਰਹੇ ॥੪॥੧॥੮॥
