ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਇਆਵਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ,

ਸੱਚੇ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਰਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਕੇ, ਮੈਂ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ, ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਪਰਸੰਨ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
ਸਗਲ = ਸਾਰੇ। ਜਪਿ = ਜਪ ਕੇ। ਜਪਿ ਸਾਧੂ = ਗੁਰੂ ਦਾ ਆਸਰਾ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਚਿਤਾਰ ਕੇ। ਸਾਧੂ = ਗੁਰੂ। ਨਿਹਾਲ = ਖ਼ੁਸ਼, ਆਨੰਦ-ਭਰਪੂਰ ॥੧॥
ਗੁਰੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ ਸਿਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹ ਦੇਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਚਿਤਾਰ ਕੇ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ॥

ਅੰਗੀਕਾਰੁ = ਪੱਖ। ਪ੍ਰਭਿ = ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ। ਦੋਖੀ = ਵੈਰੀ। ਰਵਾਲ = ਧੂੜ, ਮਿੱਟੀ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਗਏ (ਵੈਰ-ਭਾਵ ਚਿਤਵਣੋਂ ਹਟ ਗਏ)।

ਆਪਣੇ ਗੋਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਛਾਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਨਾਲ ਜੋੜ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਾਰ ਉਤਾਰਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਕੰਠਿ = ਗਲ ਨਾਲ। ਲਾਇ = ਲਾ ਕੇ। ਜਨ = ਸੇਵਕ। ਉਧਰਿ ਲੀਏ = ਬਚਾ ਲਏ। ਪਾਲ = ਪੱਲੇ ॥੧॥
ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ (ਸਦਾ) ਆਪਣੇ ਗਲ ਨਾਲ ਲਾ ਕੇ (ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ) ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੜ ਲਾ ਕੇ (ਦੋਖੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ) ਬਚਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
