साधसंगि सदा सुखु पाईऐ हरि बिसरि न कबहू जाई ॥ रहाउ ॥

अम्रित नामु परमेसरु तेरा जो सिमरै सो जीवै ॥
Amriṯ nām parmesar ṯerā jo simrai so jīvai.
Your Name, Waheguru,, O Transcendent Lord, Waheguru Ji, is Ambrosial Nectar; whoever meditates on it, lives.
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਥੀਵੈ ॥੨॥
जिस नो करमि परापति होवै सो जनु निरमलु थीवै ॥२॥

One who is blessed with God, Waheguru Ji's Grace - that humble servant becomes immaculate and pure. ||2||
ਬਿਘਨ ਬਿਨਾਸਨ ਸਭਿ ਦੁਖ ਨਾਸਨ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
बिघन बिनासन सभि दुख नासन गुर चरणी मनु लागा ॥
Bigẖan bināsan sabẖ ḏukẖ nāsan gur cẖarṇī man lāgā.
Obstacles are removed, and all pains are eliminated; my mind is attached to My Guru Ji's feet.
ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਤ ਅਚੁਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਜਾਗਾ ॥੩॥
गुण गावत अचुत अबिनासी अनदिनु हरि रंगि जागा ॥३॥
Guṇ gāvaṯ acẖuṯ abẖināsī an▫ḏin har rang jāgā. ||3||
Singing the Glorious Praises of the immovable and imperishable Lord, Waheguru Ji, one remains awake to the Lord, Waheguru Ji's Love, day and night. ||3||
ਮਨ ਇਛੇ ਸੇਈ ਫਲ ਪਾਏ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਹੇਲੀ ॥
मन इछे सेई फल पाए हरि की कथा सुहेली ॥
Man icẖẖe se▫ī fal pā▫e har kī kathā suhelī.
He obtains the fruits of his mind's desires, listening to the comforting sermon of the Lord, Waheguru Ji.
ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਮਧਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਹੋਆ ਬੇਲੀ ॥੪॥੧੬॥੨੭॥
आदि अंति मधि नानक कउ सो प्रभु होआ बेली ॥४॥१६॥२७॥
Āḏ anṯ maḏẖ Nānak ka▫o so parabẖ ho▫ā belī. ||4||16||27||
In the beginning, in the middle, and in the end, God, Waheguru Ji is Nanak's best friend. ||4||16||27||
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਹੋਆ ਸਹਾਈ ਕਥਾ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਸੁਖਦਾਈ ॥ ਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਜਪਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਕਰਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ॥੧॥
ਸੋਰਠਿ ਪੰਜਵੀਂ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ। ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ-ਵਾਰਤਾ ਤੇ ਕੀਰਤੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਖ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ। ਪੂਰਨ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਸਦੀਵ ਹੀ ਉਚਾਰਨ ਕਰ ਕੇ, ਤੂੰ ਹੇ ਫਾਨੀ ਬੰਦੇ! ਮੌਜਾਂ ਮਾਣ।
ਸਹਾਈ = ਮਦਦਗਾਰ। ਸੁਖਦਾਈ = ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਜਪਿ = ਜਪ ਕੇ, ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ। ਅਨਦੁ ਕਰਹੁ = ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣੋ। ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ = ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ!।੧।
ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ! ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ (ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ) ਬਾਣੀ ਸਦਾ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਕਰ, ਤੇ, ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣਿਆ ਕਰ। (ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਬਣਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ (ਉਸ ਦਾ) ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ (ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ) ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।੧।
ਹਰਿ ਸਾਚਾ ਸਿਮਰਹੁ ਭਾਈ ॥ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਜਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਤੂੰ ਸੱਚੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦਾ ਆਰਾਧਨ ਕਰ, ਹੇ ਵੀਰ। ਸਤਿ ਸੰਗਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਬੰਦਾ ਸਦੀਵੀ ਸੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਕਦਾਚਿਤ ਭੀ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ। ਠਹਿਰਾਉ।
ਸਾਚਾ = ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਭਾਈ = ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਿ = ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ। ਬਿਸਰਿ ਨ ਜਾਈ = ਭੁੱਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਸਦਾ ਕਾਇਮ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦਾ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਿਹਾ ਕਰੋ, (ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਸਾਧ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਵਿਚ ਸਦਾ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਮਾਣੀਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੇ, ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਕਦੇ ਭੁੱਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ।ਰਹਾਉ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੋ ਸਿਮਰੈ ਸੋ ਜੀਵੈ ॥ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੋ ਜਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਥੀਵੈ ॥੨॥
ਹੇ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਸਾਹਿਬ! ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਹੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ। ਕੇਵਲ ਓਹੀ ਜੀਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਰਾਧਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜੋ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦਇਆ ਦਾ ਪਾਤ੍ਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਜੀਵੈ = ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਰਮਿ = (ਤੇਰੀ) ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਸ਼ ਨਾਲ। ਨਿਰਮਲੁ = ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ। ਥੀਵੈ = ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।
ਹੇ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਮਾਲਕ! (ਪਰਮੇਸਰ!) ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ। ਜੇਹੜਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਿਮਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੀ ਮੇਹਰ ਨਾਲ (ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸਰ!) ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਾਸਲ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਪਵਿੱਤ੍ਰ ਜੀਵਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।੨।
ਬਿਘਨ ਬਿਨਾਸਨ ਸਭਿ ਦੁਖ ਨਾਸਨ ਗੁਰ ਚਰਣੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਤ ਅਚੁਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਜਾਗਾ ॥੩॥
ਮੇਰਾ ਚਿੱਤ ਗੁਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਸੋ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਔਕੜਾਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗਮ ਕੱਟੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਅਹਿੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਅਮਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਾ ਜੱਸ ਗਾਇਨ ਕਰਨ ਦੁਆਰਾ, ਬੰਦਾ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਅੰਦਰ ਰਾਤ ਦਿਨ ਜਾਗਦਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਬਿਘਨ = ਰੁਕਾਵਟਾਂ। ਸਭਿ = ਸਾਰੇ। ਚਰਣੀ = ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ। ਅਚੁਤ = ਅੱਚੁਤ, ਨਾਹ ਨਾਸ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲਾ। ਅਨਦਿਨੁ = ਹਰ ਰੋਜ਼, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ। ਜਾਗਾ = (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।
(ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨ ਆਤਮਕ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ) ਰੁਕਾਵਟਾਂ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਗੁਰੂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਚਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਤੇ ਅਟੱਲ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਗਾਂਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਰੰਗ ਵਿਚ ਲੀਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ (ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਹੱਲਿਆਂ ਵਲੋਂ) ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।੩।

ਆਰਾਮ ਬਖਸ਼ਣਹਾਰ ਵਾਹਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਕਥਾ-ਵਾਰਤਾ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਬੰਦਾ ਉਹ ਮੇਵੇ ਹਾਸਲ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਲੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ। ਆਰੰਭ, ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਅਖੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਹੈ।
ਸੁਹੇਲੀ = ਸੁਖ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ। ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਮਧਿ = ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿਚ, ਅਖ਼ੀਰ ਵਿਚ, ਵਿਚਕਾਰ, ਹਰ ਵੇਲੇ। ਬੇਲੀ = ਮਦਦਗਾਰ।੪।
ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਆਤਮਕ ਆਨੰਦ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ (ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ) ਉਹੀ ਫਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕਾਮਨਾ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹੇ ਭਾਈ! (ਸਿਫ਼ਤਿ-ਸਾਲਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤਿ ਨਾਲ) ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਾਸਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਦਾ ਮਦਦਗਾਰ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।੪।੧੬।੨੭।
