बिनु सतिगुर सेवे जीअ के बंधना जेते करम कमाहि ॥
Bin saṯgur seve jī▫a ke banḏẖnā jeṯe karam kamāhi.
Without serving the True Guru, the deeds which are done are only chains binding the soul.

In one place, He teaches them to read and understand everything, while in another place, He Himself makes them ignorant.

इकना अंदरि महलि बुलाए जा आपि तेरै मनि सचे भाणे ॥
Iknā anḏar mahal bulā▫e jā āp ṯerai man sacẖe bẖāṇe.
Some, You summon to the Mansion of Your Presence within, when they are pleasing to Your Mind, O True Lord.
ਜਿਨਾ ਆਪੇ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦੇ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਸਚੀ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਜਾਣੇ ॥੧੧॥
जिना आपे गुरमुखि दे वडिआई से जन सची दरगहि जाणे ॥११॥
Jinā āpe gurmukẖ ḏe vadi▫ā▫ī se jan sacẖī ḏargahi jāṇe. ||11||
That Gurmukh, whom You have blessed with greatness - that humble being is known in Your True Court. ||11||

ਜੇਤੇ = ਜਿਤਨੇ ਭੀ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਿਤਨੇ ਕੰਮ ਜੀਵ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਬੰਧਨ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਠਵਰ = ਆਸਰਾ। ਨਾ ਪਾਵਹੀ = ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਭ ਸਕਦੇ।
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਹੋਰ ਆਸਰਾ ਜੀਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ (ਤੇ ਇਸ ਕਰ ਕੇ) ਮਰਦੇ ਤੇ ਜੰਮਦੇ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਗੁਰੂ ਦੀ ਦੱਸੀ ਹੋਈ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਦੀ ਕਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਖੁੰਝ ਕੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਹੋਰ ਹੋਰ ਫਿੱਕੇ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੱਸਦਾ।
